How Eskdale Solutions collects, uses and protects your information — and the choices you have about it.

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Who we are

This website, eskdale.net, is operated by Eskdale Solutions ("we", "us", "our"), a web design, AI, 3D, IT support and security systems studio with offices at Fairways, Loanwath Road, Gretna, DG16 5ES and in Carlisle, Cumbria. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Eskdale Solutions is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at solutions@eskdale.net or 07949 468 355.

The personal data we collect

We collect information in two main ways:

  • Information you give us directly — when you fill in a contact or enquiry form, email us, or call us, we may hold your name, email address, phone number, company name and the content of your message, so we can respond to you.
  • Information collected automatically — when you visit our site, certain technical information (such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited) is processed as part of normal web hosting and, if you consent, through analytics and advertising cookies described below.

We do not knowingly collect payment card details, and we don't run an online store on this website.

Cookies and similar technologies

When you first visit the site, a cookie banner lets you choose which optional cookies to allow. We use three categories:

  • Necessary — required for the site to function, such as remembering your cookie preference itself. These can't be switched off and don't require consent.
  • Analytics — only loaded if you consent. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, rough location, device type) so we can improve it. This data is processed by Google on our behalf.
  • Advertisement — only loaded if you consent. We use Google Ads to measure the performance of our own ad campaigns and, where relevant, track conversions such as an enquiry or phone call.

Your choice is stored in a cookie for 180 days. You can review or change it at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of this site, or the small cookie icon that appears in the bottom-left corner once you've made a choice. If you reject a category, the related cookies are never set and no data is sent to that service.

How we use your information

We use personal data for the following purposes, and on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

  • To respond to enquiries and provide quotes — necessary to take steps towards a contract with you.
  • To deliver and support work for existing clients — necessary for the performance of a contract.
  • To understand site usage and improve our website — based on your consent (Analytics cookies).
  • To measure and improve our advertising — based on your consent (Advertisement cookies).
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations — necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share limited information with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, specifically:

  • Google — for Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, only where you've consented to those cookie categories.
  • Our email and hosting providers, to the extent necessary to run this website and respond to enquiries.

We may also disclose information where required by law, for example to comply with a legal obligation or protect our rights.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and contact form data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and, where a business relationship follows, for the duration of that relationship plus a period afterwards to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. Analytics data is retained in Google Analytics in line with Google's own retention settings for our account. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see "Your rights" below.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it (right of access);
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data (right to rectification);
  • Ask us to delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it (right to erasure);
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances;
  • Object to us using your data for certain purposes;
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent — for cookies, simply change your preference via the "Cookie preferences" link; and
  • Request a portable copy of data you've provided to us.

To exercise any of these rights, email solutions@eskdale.net. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for business use and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the cookies or tools we use. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We'd encourage you to check back occasionally.
