10 Steps to Adding New Pages Using Your Cms

Using website content management systems like manageIT provides incredible flexibility; technically you can add a page within a very short period but before you do.

We earnestly suggest that you consider the information architecture (ie the hierarchical structure) so that your new page is set within a series of other pages that have bearing and relevance to the page you are creating.

The process we would suggest is as follows

1. Think about the purpose of the page
2. Carry out keyword research
3. Select the appropriate position for your new page within the hierarchy
4. Create your new page - remembering to follow these basic rules for optimising the content.
5. Prepare the call(s) to action
6. Get a colleague to proof read your text (you cannot proof read your own work)
7. Once the page is agreed set it live
8. Create inbound links to your new page using anchor text from other relevant pages

Following the upload of any new page, monitor the analytics; after all what's the point of adding a new page if the bounce rate on it is 95%.
