Web Design and Seo Can Live Happily Ever After

Ok, we feel it's time to put a few things straight. There seems to be a train of thought going around at the moment which says Web Design Agencies don't make websites which are SEO-friendly or provide any return to clients.

We beg to differ, and the fact that we have been in business for over 10 years is testament to that.

Usability And SEO

We like to make websites which look beautiful and perform in search engines. All our software is designed to be search engine friendly, you can customise your meta in our ecommerce and cms systems. Even our text editor is W3C compliant and makes it easy to add <h[1-6]> tags in your page content.

Some sites which are super search engine friendly aren't very user friendly. They're just screeds and screeds of text which, as we said; isn't very user friendly. The internet is primarily a visual medium and unless you give visitors a reason to stay they will be put off before they even start. If you come across a page online that's full of text it's hard to scan for the info you want and you click off.

Be very careful with your keywords. Some companies go keyword crazy and all you see on page is the word 'website' mentioned twenty times on a single page. Doesn't make for easy reading does it. As long as you have relevance (keyword in meta, page titles, content/headings) Google will appreciate it.

Web design and development is much like any aspect of life: it's all about balance. This balance is between usability and seo.
