Manage Your Online Reputation - Five Tools to Help

We all know how important it is to manage the reputation of your business in the wide world. For some reason, our brains remember negative feedback far more frequently than good feedback (must be some kind of self preservation thing). But are you remembering to manage your online reputation?

With the immense success of social networking, review sites and blogging you can't afford to miss this out. One bad review can be seen by a LOT of people. Think of this as an extension of your customer service - take time to say thank you for a good review or give the other side to a bad review and try to resolve the issue. It will instantly show your clients that you care and are a good company to do business with.

Here are some useful tools to get you on your way.........

BackTweets.com – a search engine for Twitter.

Addictomatic.com – searches blogs, news etc.

Sitemention.com – type in your url and see what’s being said about you.

Brandwatch.com – although I think this is a paid service it is very comprehensive and I believe you can get a free trial before you commit to buy.

Socialmention.com – you can set alerts up like google alerts to let you know about any mentions your company gets.

Hope this helps and remember - you can also use your social media to ask customers what they would like to see you develop service or productwise. What better way to find out what your real customers want from you and find any niches that you can develop?
